QHHT Visualization and Your Clair Senses: You Don’t Need to See Anything
QHHT Visualization. By Nadia Gledhill, certified QHHT practitioner, Melbourne
One of the most common worries people bring to their first QHHT session is this:
“I’m not very visual. What if I can’t see anything?”
It is a completely understandable concern. Popular depictions of hypnosis and past life regression tend to lean heavily on dramatic imagery – people watching their past lives unfold like a film on an inner screen. And so, quite naturally, many people assume that QHHT visualization is the key that unlocks the whole experience. If they cannot see clearly, they assume the session will not work.
That assumption is one of the most persistent myths in quantum healing, and it deserves to be gently but firmly put to rest. QHHT – Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique, developed by the pioneering researcher Dolores Cannon – does not require you to be clairvoyant. It does not require you to see anything at all. What it requires is simply that you receive. And every single person, without exception, has the capacity to do that.
In this article I am going to reveal why the QHHT visualization myth took hold, what the clair senses actually are, how each one can show up in a real QHHT session, and how you can begin to recognise which channel of perception is most natural for you. By the end, my hope is that you feel not just reassured, but genuinely excited about what your own unique way of receiving might bring through.
The QHHT Visualization Myth
It is easy to understand how QHHT visualization became the default assumption. When Dolores Cannon first began publishing accounts of her sessions, the stories she shared were rich with visual detail – clients describing alien landscapes, ancient civilisations, and past lives in vivid, almost cinematic terms. Those accounts captivated readers because they were so specific and so alive. And over time, that specificity became the benchmark by which many people measure whether their own experience is “working.”
But here is what that framing misses entirely: those visual accounts represent one way of receiving information – not the only way, and not even necessarily the most common way. Dolores herself worked with thousands of clients across more than four decades, and the depth and validity of how a past life regression worked or helped someone was never determined by how vividly a client could see. What mattered was whether they made contact with their Higher Self – the vast, all-knowing aspect of the soul that exists beyond time, personality, and physical limitation. And that contact can come through many different channels.
The cultural bias toward clairvoyance – the psychic sense of sight – runs deep. We live in an image-saturated world. We say things like “I see what you mean” and “Let me paint you a picture.” Sight is the sense we trust most, so it is naturally the one we default to when we try to imagine spiritual experience. However, 5D consciousness does not operate exclusively through the visual channel. The theta state that QHHT induces opens all of the senses – inner and outer – and the information that comes through will take whatever form is most natural for you.
What Are the Clair Senses?
The clair senses are the subtle, intuitive channels through which human beings perceive information beyond the physical senses. The word “clair” comes from the French for “clear,” and each clair sense represents a different form of clear perception. Most people have access to all of them to varying degrees, but nearly everyone has one or two that are naturally dominant.
Clairvoyance – clear seeing – is the ability to receive visual impressions, images, symbols, or scenes with the inner eye. It is the most widely known clair sense, and it is the one most commonly associated with psychic ability and spiritual experience. However, it is just one of eight.
Clairaudience – clear hearing – involves receiving information as sound, words, music, or voices heard internally. Some people experience this as a thought that arrives in a voice that does not quite feel like their own. Others hear a distinct inner narrator.
Clairsentience – clear feeling – is the ability to receive information through physical or emotional sensation. Clairsentient people tend to feel their way through experiences rather than see or hear them. They may notice a warmth in the chest, a heaviness in the body, or a wave of emotion that carries meaning.
Claircognizance – clear knowing – is perhaps the most undervalued of all the clair senses. It arrives not as a vision or a feeling, but as a sudden, complete, inexplicable knowing. You did not think your way to the information. You simply know it, with a quiet certainty that is hard to argue with.
Clairgustance – clear tasting – is the ability to receive spiritual or energetic information through the sense of taste, often without any physical stimulus present. It is less common than the previous four but is a recognised and valid channel of perception.
Clairalience – clear smelling – involves receiving impressions through scent. Some people spontaneously smell flowers, smoke, perfume, or food during spiritual experiences, even when no physical source is present.
Clairtangency – clear touching, also known as psychometry – is the ability to receive information through physical contact with objects, places, or people. It is closely related to clairsentience but is specifically activated through touch.
Clairempathy – clear emotion – is the ability to receive and feel the emotions of others or of a situation as though they are your own. Many empathic people operate through this channel without realising it is a distinct form of intuitive perception.
How Each Clair Sense Shows Up in a QHHT Session
Understanding the clair senses in the abstract is useful. But it becomes truly valuable when you can picture how each one might show up in the context of an actual quantum healing session. So let us walk through them, one by one, in exactly that way.
A clairvoyant client might close their eyes and begin to describe a scene unfolding before them – a field, a coastline, a room in an unfamiliar century. The images may be sharp and detailed, or they may be softer, more impressionistic, like a half-remembered dream. Either way, the visual information arrives and carries meaning. This is the experience most people expect from QHHT. It is wonderful when it happens, but it is not the only valid form of experience.
A clairaudient client may not see much at all. Instead, they hear. They hear a voice answering questions – sometimes their own voice, sometimes something that feels subtly different. They may hear a name, a date, a phrase, or a piece of guidance that arrives with a quiet authority. In a QHHT session, the Higher Self often communicates clairaudiently, and practitioners are trained to recognise and work with this. When a client says, “I just heard the word ‘forgive,’” that is not nothing. That is the Higher Self speaking.
A clairsentient client experiences the session primarily through the body and the emotions. They may not see a past life so much as feel it – a tightening in the throat that reveals an old wound, a warmth spreading through the chest as healing is offered, a grief that rises and releases without needing a name or a story. QHHT clairsentience is extraordinarily powerful because it bypasses the analytical mind entirely. The body does not lie, and when healing occurs at this sensory level, it tends to be deep and lasting.
A claircognizant client may experience QHHT in a way that surprises them. They may feel as though “not much is happening” – no visions, no voices, no dramatic physical sensations. And yet, when the practitioner asks them a question, they find that they simply know the answer. It arrives whole and complete, without effort. This is QHHT claircognizance at work, and it is one of the most common experiences in sessions – yet it is also one of the most frequently dismissed by clients who assume they must be “making it up.” They are not. Spontaneous, effortless knowing in the theta state is a hallmark of genuine contact with the Higher Self.
Clairgustance and clairalience show up less frequently, but they show up. A client might suddenly taste something sweet during a regression to a happy memory, or smell woodsmoke during a scene set by a fire centuries ago. These sensory details are not random. They are the subconscious mind anchoring the experience in something real and tangible.
Clairtangency tends to emerge when clients experience strong physical sensations in their hands or body that connect them to a person, object, or place in a past-life scene. And clairempathy – perhaps the most quietly universal of all – shows up when a client simply finds themselves feeling the emotions of the scene or the person they are visiting, sometimes so strongly that tears come before they have consciously understood why.
You Already Have a Dominant Clair Sense
Here is something that may feel both surprising and quietly validating: you are already using your clair senses every day. You simply may not have been calling them that.
Think about how you naturally process information. When you make an important decision, do you tend to think it through visually – imagining different scenarios playing out? Or do you find yourself listening for an inner sense of rightness, a voice of guidance that steers you one way or another? Perhaps you are someone who “goes with their gut” – who trusts a feeling in the body over any amount of logical reasoning. Or maybe you are the person who simply walks into a room and knows, with quiet certainty, whether something is right or wrong, safe or unsafe, true or false.
Each of those patterns corresponds to a dominant clair sense. The visual thinker is likely clairvoyant. The inner-voice listener is likely clairaudient. The gut-feeler is likely clairsentient. The quiet knower is likely claircognizant. And the person who walks into a room and immediately absorbs everyone’s emotional state is likely clairempathic.
Your dominant clair sense is not a spiritual achievement you have to earn. It is simply your natural channel – the way your intuition speaks to you most fluently. And in a QHHT session, that channel will be the primary pathway through which your Higher Self communicates with you. The job of a skilled practitioner is not to force you into a visual experience. It is to recognise which channel is open and work with it, meeting you exactly where you are.
What Matters Most in a QHHT Session Is Not How You Receive - It’s That You Receive
At the heart of every QHHT session is a single intention: to make genuine contact with the Higher Self. That contact is the source of the healing, the clarity, the answers, and the transformation that quantum healing can offer. And that contact does not care whether it arrives as a vision, a voice, a feeling, a sudden knowing, or the unexpected taste of salt on the lips during a regression to a life lived by the sea.
What the session requires from you is not clairvoyance. It requires openness. It requires a willingness to trust whatever arrives, even when it feels simple, even when it feels like you might be imagining it, even when it does not match the dramatic spiritual awakening you had pictured. The Higher Self speaks in the language your soul already understands. Your only task is to let it speak.
Many of the most transformative sessions – the ones where deep physical healing occurs, where decades of emotional pain are released, where a person’s entire relationship with their life shifts in a single afternoon – happen not through dramatic visual spectacle, but through quiet feeling, steady knowing, or a single sentence heard in the inner ear that changes everything. The channel is almost irrelevant. The connection is everything.
If you have been holding back from booking a QHHT session because you are worried you are “not visual enough,” consider this your sign that you are ready. Whatever your dominant clair sense, whatever your experience of inner perception, you have exactly what you need to have a deeply meaningful session. I work with clients of all intuitive styles in Melbourne, and would love to answer any questions you have before you take the next step.
